Uttarakhand : The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has arrested Anuj Kumar Singh, a partner in Kala Amb-based Digital Vision Pharma, in connection with a massive drug diversion case involving psychotropic medicines and codeine-based cough syrups worth over Rs 547 crore.
Singh, a 42-year-old resident of Roorkee in Haridwar, had been absconding since August 14 after ignoring NCB summons and was apprehended in Chandigarh.
According to the NCB, Singh’s company, in collusion with two Uttarakhand-based pharmaceutical manufacturers, allegedly diverted around 21.88 lakh psychotropic tablets, 10.57 lakh bottles of codeine syrup, and nearly 1,002 kg of psychotropic raw material to non-existent firms operating across Punjab, Rajasthan, and West Bengal.
