A popular Connecticut pizzeria announced it has served its last slice — for now — after the building it has been in for 50 years has been sold.

Mike’s Pizza Palace in Naugatuck announced the closure on Facebook, saying Halloween marked its final day of business at its Church Street location.

“The building is being sold, and like many small businesses, we’ve faced some tough challenges that made this day come much sooner than we hoped,” the post said.

For more than 50 years, the restaurant has been a local gathering spot for pizza, laughter, and late-night bites. Loyal customers, local teams, and families filled the small shop, making it a cornerstone of the community.

“From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who’s supported Mike’s Pizza through the years,” the post continued. “Generations of families, loyal customers, teams, and friends who’ve made this place feel like home. We’ve shared a lot of memories, laughs, and late-night pizzas, and we’re grateful for every one of them.”

Dozens shared memories of visiting Mike's when they were kids and then taking their children and grandchildren decades later.

The owners said they hope to continue that legacy if they can find a suitable location.

“This isn’t goodbye,” they wrote. “It’s just see you later. We’re hopeful to reopen somewhere new and continue serving the community that’s been so good to us.”
