Mookie Betts successfully navigated his first full season at a new, more challenging defensive position, while also having the worst offensive season of his Hall of Fame career. And he was candid about going through the many challenges of his season.
In retrospect, getting sent home early from the season-opening trip to Tokyo and not being able to keep down solid food for two weeks in March with a stomach bug was a harbinger of a turbulent ride in 2025.
“Literally every time I fuel my body, I throw it up, and I don’t know what to do about it,” Betts said during the exhibition freeway series just days before the domestic portion of the season began.
