Hundreds of Amarilloans did not miss the chance to stop by on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 9 at Arts in the Sunset to get a glimpse of the people’s Christmas tree, traveling through several states on its way to the nation’s capitol, Washington, D.C., where it will be officially lit on the 19th of November.
The huge 2025 U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree was harvested in Nevada, from Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. The 53-foot red fir stopped for a while to let locals get photos and sign the banners that covered the long trailer in which the tree was housed, with window panes so people could view the beauty with twinkling lights.
