NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - North Charleston Police are addressing a shooting outside Northwoods Mall that happened Saturday afternoon.
Officers responded to the mall around 4:15 p.m. that day following reports of shots fired near the food court.
At the scene, they determined that one male victim was shot on the sidewalk and not inside the mall. The victim went to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say that they have identified both the victim and the potential suspect, whose name they have not released.
The shooting reportedly happened after a coincidental encounter between the victim and the possible suspect, who police say were involved in some sort of fight two years ago while they were in high school. Neither individual is still a student
