Illinois College Esports achieved a notable result at the Midwest Esports Conference (MVEC) Championships held in Waverly, Iowa, over the weekend. The Valorant team led the program by finishing third overall. The squad began with a 2–0 victory against Morningside, then narrowly lost to Cornell College, 2–1, in the semifinals. In the third-place match, Illinois College defeated Gustavus Adolphus with a 2–0 sweep to secure a trophy.
In Rocket League competition, Illinois College finished fifth. The team lost its opening match to Jamestown (0–4) and was narrowly defeated by Wartburg (3–4). They ended their run with a 4–1 win over Buena Vista.
The program will continue postseason play this week. The Esports team is scheduled to face Arkansas State University-Mountain Home on Wednesday at 5:0
