TULSA — Words of the People (WTP), a Native women-led nonprofit, will hold its inaugural Literary Gala on Saturday at the OSU Tulsa Auditorium.
The event is dedicated to celebrating Indigenous voices and storytelling.
The gala will feature headline readings from two of the most prominent Indigenous literary artists today: Jake Skeets, the current Navajo Nation Poet Laureate and award-winning author of Eyes Bottle Dark with a Mouthful of Flowers , and Kinsale Drake, the celebrated Diné poet, playwright and NABJ Award winner. The evening will also include a musical performance by acclaimed Cherokee artist Agalisiga Mackey.
