Paik Seung-ho has withdrawn from international duty with South Korea after sustaining a shoulder injury in Birmingham City’s defeat to Middlesbrough on Saturday.

The midfielder landed awkwardly after challenging for a header in the first minute at The Riverside and required lengthy on-field treatment before being substituted.

Blues manager Chris Davies confirmed afterwards that Paik’s shoulder had popped out and that he would be assessed by the club’s medical team.

Davies said: “We don’t know exactly (the extent), he’s obviously landed on his shoulder and looked to be in a lot of discomfort which is not nice.

“He’s a massive player for us and hasn’t been injured much at all, to see him down like that was really unpleasant.
