Police are investigating after a man was found dead in a home in Ansonia last week.

The man was found after police responded to a residence on Prindle Avenue for a welfare check around 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 4, according to Lt. Patrick Lynch of the Ansonia Police Department .

Inside the home, officers found 55-year-old Carlos Gonzalez dead, Lynch said. He was a resident of the home.

According to Lynch, no one else was in the residence.

“At this time there does not appear to be any suspicious circumstances regarding the death of the individual,” Lynch said in a statement.

The results of an autopsy conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner remain pending.
