LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - After Emmett Johnson scored a touchdown in Nebraska’s 28-21 win at UCLA, he struck the Heisman Trophy pose along with a pair of Huskers linemen. Two days later, Johnson’s head coach advocated for the junior running back during his weekly news conference.
“He should be in New York,” Rhule said about Johnson. Nebraska’s star running back ranks second in Division-I football with 1,131 rushing yards. He leads all players in yards from scrimmage.
Rhule listed Johnson’s accolades for more than 30 seconds in front of reporters on Monday.
“Two pages (of notes),” Rhule said. “That’s how good he is.”
Johnson has totaled 14 touchdowns during Nebraska’s 7-3 season.
The Huskers will enjoy a bye this weekend before games against Penn State and Iowa.
