A 'truly gripping' crime drama about Scotland's most notorious serial killers is now streaming on Netflix. Des, which originally aired in 2020 on ITV, tells the story of the arrest and trial of Scots murderer Dennis Nilsen, played by David Tennant.
The three-part series also stars Line of Duty actors Daniel Mays and Jason Watkins, as well as Ben Bailey Smith. Known as the 'Kindly Killer, Nilsen was originally from Fraserburgh in Aberdeenshire.
The Scots killer was a civil servant who spent five years murdering boys and young men who he met on the streets of London from 1978 until 1983. By the time he was caught on February 9 1983, Nilsen had killed as many as 15 men over a period of five years, making him Britain's most active serial killer at the time.
