MACON, Ga. — As Congress works to potentially pass a deal to end the government shutdown, some Georgia families still could get some food aid assistance before the vote comes down.

The Georgia Department of Human Services sent out a release on Sunday, stating its plans to roll out partial SNAP benefits as soon as Tuesday.

According to the DHS's release , they plan to issue some Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits for the month of November.

The release said that, for those whose SNAP benefits should've been distributed in early November, they will receive their allotment by Tuesday, Nov. 11. The release added that those who receive their benefits later in the month should receive their benefits on time.
