Plan ahead, as all U.S. post offices will be closed on Tuesday in recognition of a national holiay.
The U.S. Postal Service will close all post offices across the country on Tuesday, Nov. 11, to observe the federal holiday Veterans Day.
The day is set aside each year to thank and honor all those who served honorably in the military — in wartime or peacetime, according to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. It’s intended to thank living veterans for their service, to acknowledge that their contributions to national security are appreciated, and to underscore the fact that all those who served — not only those who died — have sacrificed and done their duty.
According to the U.S. Postal Service, only priority mail express items will be delivered on the holiday.
