A 3-year-old boy who was found unresponsive in a pond behind his home died on Nov. 8, according to the Solon Police Department.

The boy’s father called the Solon Police Department to report that his son, who was being watched by an adult family member alongside another child, was missing from their residence on Capilano Drive, according to a news release.

When officers arrived on the scene, followed by the boy’s parents, they conducted a search inside and around the house. Shortly after, the boy was found unresponsive in a pond behind the home and officers began lifesaving measures immediately.

Solon Fire medics transported the boy to an area hospital where he died after unsuccessful attempts to save his life.
