CHATANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Chattanooga Fire Department (CFD) responded to the 3500 block of Brainerd Road at 10 a.m. on November 10 for a spill in the roadway.
A large transformer being transported came off a trailer and landed in the middle of the road.
The transformer had close to 700 gallons of oil in it that had leaked out due to its impact with the roadway.
Crews used oil dry along with absorbent pads and booms to prevent oil from entering the storm drains.
Chattanooga Water Quality was onsite to evaluate the situation.
A clean-up company also responded to clean up the roadway.
