A Fort Payne, AL man is behind bars after police say he shot and killed two people on Sunday.

The shooting happened just before 6:00pm on November 9 at the Fort Payne Housing Authority Complex.

Fort Payne police identified the suspect as 27-year-old Jacob Eugene Mitchum, who is charged with murder.

Police identified the victims as 27-year-old Alisha Nichole Keller and 24-year-old Logan Cordale Brown. The Fort Payne Police Department said first responders attempted life-saving measures, but were unsuccessful.

Oxford police officers and Calhoun County deputies found and arrested Mitchum.

Police say in his initial court appearance, Mitchum was not given bond. He is now being held in the DeKalb County Detention Center.
