ATLANTA, Ga. (WRBL) — A Georgia health advocacy group is raising concerns about a looming federal deadline that could leave hundreds of thousands of Georgians uninsured and drive up health insurance costs across the state.
Georgians for a Healthy Future says enhanced premium tax credits, part of the Affordable Care Act, are set to expire at the end of the year unless Congress acts to renew them. The organization says those credits have made health insurance more affordable since 2021 — often cutting premiums in half or, for some low-income families, eliminating monthly costs entirely.
