LUDLOW, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - With Thanksgiving coming up, the Ludlow Veterans Center is collecting non-perishable foods to build Thanksgiving baskets for local veterans.
Through November 14th, items like boxed stuffing, canned veggies, and pie fillings can be dropped off at 487 Holyoke Street in Ludlow.
Director of Veteran Services Eric Segundo said, “Food insecurity is tremendous among military personnel and our veterans. We’ve seen almost a 100 percent increase in the use of our pantry, and we just can’t keep enough food on the shelves.”
The center is also helping active service members, some who haven’t been paid in weeks.
Donations or checks made to the Town of Ludlow Veterans Services can help provide full Thanksgiving meals.
