Nov. 29 will mark the fourth anniversary of the Canadiens firing Marc Bergevin as general manager.
The 60-year-old hasn’t been able to land another GM job in the NHL since then.
Bergevin was reportedly interviewed twice this summer by the New York Islanders before they decided to hire former Canadien Mathieu Darche as their new GM and executive vice-president, replacing Lou Lamoriello. Darche spent the previous six seasons in management with the Tampa Bay Lightning, including the last three years as assistant GM to Julien BriseBois.
Bergevin is in his fourth season as a senior adviser with the Los Angeles Kings and on Monday he was named general manager for Team Canada at the annual Spengler Cup Dec. 26-31 in Davos, Switzerland. Bergevin will be joined by associate general manager Sta
