KANSAS CITY, Mo.—The Kansas City Royals announced today they acquired outfielder Kameron Misner (MYZE-ner) from the Tampa Bay Rays for a player to be named later or cash considerations. Misner was designated for assignment by the Rays last week.

Misner, 27, played in 71 games with Tampa Bay in 2025 and hit .213 (42-for-197) with 15 extra-base hits and 8 stolen bases in 217 plate appearances. He made 57 starts, including 42 in center field, 12 in right field and 3 in left field.

Misner made the Rays Opening Day roster this season for the first time in his career. On Opening Day, he entered in the 8th inning on defense and hit a walk-off home run in the 9th, becoming the first player in Major League history to hit his 1st career home run in walk-off fashion on Opening Day.
