The Michigan and Michigan State men's basketball teams are on their way up.
The Wolverines climbed one spot to No. 6 while the Spartans shot up five spots to No. 17 in this week's Associated Press Top 25, released Monday.
Michigan State is one of the poll's bigger climbers, off to a 2-0 start, including a 69-66 victory over then-No. 14 Arkansas on Saturday night in East Lansing. Michigan (1-0) won its season opener last week, 121-78 over Oakland , and takes on Wake Forest on Tuesday at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.
Houston was No. 1 in the poll, swapping spots with Purdue by earning three more points overall. The Cougars received 18 first-place votes from a 61-person media panel and Purdue had 36, with four other teams also getting at least one.
