LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg, D-Louisville, was joined by Rep. Morgan McGarvey, D-Louisville and representatives from emergency services and the Louisville Metropolitan Sewer District to update the community about search and recovery efforts at the UPS plane crash site.
Greenberg said the tragedy is almost incomprehensible and reiterated that agencies are working together to get answers and support those affected.
He said at the time of the crash, oil was two to three feed deep in some areas, but quick action helped to contain contamination. Greenberg said UPS has hired a contractor to work with MSD and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on full-site cleanup.
Tony Parrot, executive director of MSD, said its response team was on the scene within 90 minutes. He
