MARYLAND, USA — Some runners said they feel ripped off after the Bay Bridge Run was cancelled over the weekend. The run was canceled due to inclement weather. Weather that some said didn't seem severe enough to stop the run. Organizers said the run will not be rescheduled, and runners will not be refunded.
The run organizers and the Maryland Transportation Authority said the decision was not made lightly, but during rain, wind, and fog, two-way traffic is not allowed on each span of the bridge. So on Sunday, they couldn't close one of the spans for the runners.
"I feel like I was scammed,” said Joe Semaan, one of the thousands of runners who paid around $120 to run the annual Chesapeake Bay Bridge 10K on Sunday.
Semaan said he woke up on race day to the news that the run was cancell
