BRENHAM, Texas (KBTX) - The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo returned to Brenham this weekend for its annual showcase, continuing an 18-year tradition of agriculture education.
The event featured over 200 participants showing heifers and steers at the Washington County Fair Grounds. Chairman of the Calf Scramble Greeters Committee, John Fussell explained that 50% of exhibitors are new to the process of raising and showing animals.
“It does not matter which community, it’s the community throughout the whole state of Texas – I mean we are teaching these kids agriculture, education, entertainment, and western heritage,” Fussell said.
The show plans to return next year to the Washington County Fairgrounds in Brenham.
