CLEVELAND — A spokeswoman for the Ohio Department of Transportation said fortunately, the first snow of the season in Greater Cleveland did not cause any major problems.
“All things considered, it went really well,” said ODOT’s Amanda McFarland. “There were no interstates that were shut down for extended periods of time, lane closures here and there, but nothing that completely snarled or gridlocked… There were definitely some crashes here and there, which I hate to say it, but it's kind of expected for the first snow storm.”
According to McFarland, the agency had 200 trucks out overnight.
On Monday, Cleveland leaders explained how they’ve been gearing up for this winter. The city's Department of Public Works is fully prepared with 138 drivers, 60 plows, and 22,000 tons of salt.
