MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The WVU women’s soccer team has earned hosting rights for the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. West Virginia (13-3-3) will host Wagner Friday, November 14 at 7 p.m.

West Virginia currently holds an RPI of 13.

“I have served on a lot of different committees and I know it is hard. We were hoping a four or five,” said WVU head coach Nikki Izzo-Brown. “But again, when you are in that room and you have to move things around, I know it gets complicated. I thought we did enough to definitely be in the four or five. It is OK. Hopefully we’ll just keep winning and prove to them that maybe we can get ourselves into the Round of 16 and keep going.”
