CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) -- Blizzards are on their way to Canfield -- and not just the snowy kind.
Monday was the groundbreaking ceremony of the new Dairy Queen, opening at the site of the former Perkins. The new location will feature a double drive-thru.
Canfield Mayor Donnie Dragish came out for the event, joined by the city manager, police chief and city council president.
"City Council has been great. Not only are they friends of ours, but they work hard to serve the community as well. So, we can have no problems moving forward," said Chrissy Smith, owner of the Dairy Queen.
The old Dairy Queen will stay open until the new one is ready. There are no plans to tear the old building down. The owner says it'll be repurposed once the new location is open.
