BEACH PARK, Ill. (WLS) -- A man who was targeted in an alleged murder-for-hire shooting in the north suburbs has died, officials said on Monday.

The Lake County Sheriff's Office said 46-year-old Oscar Ochoa-Tello, of Beach Park, was pronounced dead on Saturday.

Two people have been arrested in connection with an alleged plot to kill Ochoa-Tello in a shooting that unfolded on Wednesday morning.

Police said Ochoa-Tello was shot while warming up his vehicle outside of his home in the 38400-block of North Sheridan Road.

Police said Ochoa-Tello's family member took him to Vista East Medical Center, and he was flown to a level one trauma center. He remained hospitalized in extremely critical condition before being pronounced dead on
