Soon, New Britain will have a new mayor for the first time in more than a decade.

Democrat Bobby Sanchez is set to be sworn in by outgoing Mayor Erin Stewart on Wednesday.

And Monday was the republican’s last day at city hall.

During a conversation with NBC Connecticut, Stewart looked back on her legacy – spending more time in office than even her father, former mayor Tim Stewart.

She also looked toward her own future and inched closer to an announcement about if she’s going to run for governor.

“It's like the worst kept secret in Connecticut right now, I think,” Sewart said.
