RIO ARRIBA COUNTY, N.M. —
A Mexican wolf has been relocated by New Mexico Department of Game and Fish after being captured north of Interstate 40.
The wolf, identified as Male Mexican wolf 3065, was returned to the Mexican Wolf Experimental Population Area located in the Gila National Forest, according to the department. It also said a helicopter was used in the capturing on Friday, Nov. 7.

Game and Fish also said the capturing and relocation of the Mexican wolf was done in accordance with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's current recovery permit. The permit states, "authorized permittees may capture and at the direction and discretion of the USFWS Mexican Wolf Recovery Coordinator, return to the Mexican Wolf Experime
