A. GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN LATEST
Although the government shutdown may soon be over, air travelers can expect continued flight delays and cancellations this week.
The Federal Aviation Administration is moving ahead with deeper cuts to flights at 40 major U.S. airports.
B. SCOTUS SAME SEX MARRIAGE
The Supreme Court has rejected a bid to overturn its 2015 landmark decision that legalized same-sex marriage nationwide.
The justices turned away the appeal without making any comment on it.
C. SEVERE WEATHER
A blast of Arctic air is bearing down on much of the U.S., causing temperatures to plummet as far south as Florida, and bringing snow to parts of the country.
Cold weather warnings have been issued for Ohio, West Virginia and Kentucky.
D. CLIMATE CHANGE SUMMIT
A two-week U.N. climate conference, known as COP30, has opened in Brazil, and leaders are pushing for more to be done to curb global warning.
However, experts say the goal is more difficult because the Trump administration is not participating.
