House Speaker Lisa Demuth, R-Cold Spring, has chosen attorney Ryan Wilson as her running mate as she campaigns to become Minnesota's next governor.
Demuth announced the Demuth-Wilson ticket on Monday, praising Wilson as a "dynamic community leader and champion for government accountability".
"We're long past due for some accountability in the highest level of our government, and as my lieutenant governor, Ryan will help me deliver that for Minnesota," she shared.
Wilson narrowly lost a 2022 bid for state auditor to the DFL's Julie Blaha and he represented the GOP caucus in the state Supreme Court earlier this year as the parties battled over control of the House and quorum.
At a news conference Monday, Wilson said he's honored to be Demuth's running mate.
