A report presented to city council on Monday brought forward 2026 budget adjustments to the 2023-2026 service plans and budgets, with a stance to maintain property tax increases to keep Calgarians ahead of economic pressures.

This follows a preview of next year’s budget that was presented in September, which proposes a 3.6 per cent blended tax hike. It includes an average 5.4 per cent increase for homeowners, alongside a 1.3 per cent increase for commercial properties.
