The last few weeks have gone really well in our area. Most everyone is either wrapped up or right at the finish line. We’ve seen a lot of corn come off and quite a few double-crop beans run as well. I haven’t heard many yield reports yet on those double-crops, but overall, people seem pretty pleased. We’ve also had some rain, and there’s more in the forecast, so we’re hoping everyone can finish before that turns to snow early next week.
Corn yields across southwest Ohio have been strong. It’s not unusual to hear averages above 200 bushels per acre, and some farms have hit 220 to 250. Soybeans have also performed really well, especially the early-planted fields. I think that’s been the biggest takeaway this year. Don’t be afraid to plant early. Even when condit
