COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohioans who receive federal food assistance could start seeing deposits in their accounts as early as Wednesday.
State officials say these will be partial benefits, not the full amounts families normally receive. Benefits have been held up by the shutdown of the federal government.
The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services announced Monday afternoon that it will begin issuing Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program payments to its 1.4 million recipients in the coming days.
Most households will receive about 65% or less of their normal benefit this week.
