CLEVELAND, Ohio — Brian Daboll was fired by the New York Giants on Monday.
Assistant head coach and offensive coordinator Mike Kafka has been named the interim coach.
The firing comes one day after the Giants suffered a 24-20 loss to the Chicago Bears, a game where they once held a 20-10 fourth quarter lead.
The loss gave the Giants a 2-8 record, which is the worst in the NFC East division, and makes them one of six NFL teams with two or fewer wins.
This season has been marked by season-ending injuries to their young star players.
From WR Malik Nabers (torn right ACL), to rookie RB Cam Skattebo (dislocated ankle). Even rookie QB Jaxson Dart has been evaluated for four concussions.
Daboll took over the reign in 2022 and coached the Giants to nine wins and a divisional round appear
