Even with benefits reinstated, food assistance organizations have said they're still seeing no end in sight when it comes to the ongoing spike in demand. Volunteers at Hands on Hartford's food pantry said they normally see around 70 people a day. Now, they say they recently served 140 families even before they re-open after noon.
