Christy made just $1.3 million at the box office in its opening weekend, putting it in the top ten all-time worst opening weekends for a movie opening on over 2,000 screens, per Box Office Mojo . “so yes I’m proud,” she wrote. “why? because we don’t always just make art for numbers, we make it for impact. and christy has been the most impactful project of my life.”
