NEW BRITAIN, Conn. — New Britain police shared bodycam video Monday, showing the arrest of a man suspected in the death of 11-year-old Jacqueline "Mimi" Torres-Garcia.
The bodycam video captured multiple officers taking Jonatan Nanita, the former boyfriend of Jacqueline's mother, into custody on Oct. 13. Police said he disposed of the bin containing the girl's remains behind an abandoned property in New Britain.
The video, which is incomplete, appears to show the moments after Nanita's initial encounter with New Britain police as described in an arrest warrant . The warrant noted that he approached officers to "clear his name" while they were canvassing Karla's Tremont Street residence.
