Earlier, emergency services attended scene of a serious road traffic collision outside Limavady.

Two fire appliances, police, ambulance, and the charity air ambulance were at the scene on the Boleran Road between Coleraine, Garvagh and Limavady.

A young girl has since been airlifted to Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children for further injuries which have been described as “critical”.

In a social media post, Ballerin GAA asked for prayers for the girl: “We ask our community to come together to pray for a young member who was injured in an accident this evening.

"The rosary will be said at 8pm in St Mary’s Church. Padre Pio pray for her”.

It’s understood the young girl is a former player at the club, while her family are still members.
