The Indianapolis International Airport was one of the top 10 airports for canceled departing flights over the past few days as Indianapolis travelers have felt the effects of a shortage of air traffic controllers and a mandatory nationwide flight reduction.
Four days after the Federal Aviation Administration mandated flight reductions at 40 "high-volume" airports across the country, including Indianapolis, travelers and the airline industry are reeling from thousands of canceled flights.
On Nov. 7, the day the order went into effect, Indianapolis saw a 3% flight reduction followed by 4% the next day, according to data from tracking website FlightAware.
