CHICAGO (WLS) -- More than 700 flights have been canceled at Chicago airports on Monday as travelers navigate impacts of the federal government shutdown and overnight snowfall.
Controller shortages combined with wintry weather led to four-hour delays at Chicago O'Hare International Airport, at one point, on Monday, with the Federal Aviation Administration warning that staffing at more than a dozen towers and control centers could cause disruptions in cities including Philadelphia, Nashville and Atlanta.

There is a ground delay at O'Hare, according to the FAA's website. As of 6:16 p.m., 618 flights have been canceled at O'Hare, with delays averaging 54 minutes, the city's FlyChicago website said.
