The Vancouver City Council’s final 2025 community forum set for Nov. 24 may be the last of its kind for a while.
“The last community forum we had — and really with the last several ones that we’ve been holding — we’ve been seeing a decline in attendance, and we’ve had cases where the council was not able to fully participate,” Vancouver City Manager Lon Pluckhahn told city councilors and Mayor Anne McEnerny-Ogle during the council’s Nov. 3 meeting.
Pluckhahn asked councilors to pause the community forums for a short time.
“I’m looking at it from the staff side,” he said, “and we’d like a chance to take a little bit of time to think about how we’re holding those, where we’re holding those, (and) whether or not we’re actually meeting the council’s original goals.”
