Stephan Platzer, a longtime resident of Longmeadow, has a lifelong love of both photography and for the town in which he lives. Over the last several years, Platzer has merged those two loves into a project that can be called a labor of love: The Longmeadow Arts Community Calendar.

Platzer was at the Storrs Library on Monday evening giving a talk about the calendar’s previous years and previewing the 2026 calendar. He will be at the Longmeadow Adult Center, 211 Maple Road, to give a similar presentation on Thursday, Nov. 13, at 6 p.m. Platzer’s talks include sharing numerous photos by local photographers, even beyond the photos that appear in the calendars. Several of the artists may also be in attendance to talk about their work.
