SANDERSVILLE, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp on Monday announced he’d appointed Carl Cansino as the Washington County solicitor general.

This follows the resignation several weeks ago of Michael Howard after a 12 On Your Side investigation raised questions about why some DUI cases were not being prosecuted .

Our investigation showed video of drivers who tested over twice the legal limit appearing to walk free after their cases were dismissed.

We also found at least 95 of these DUI cases in Washington County.

Less than a week since we brought you our investigation, Howard stepped down .

As of Oct. 28, the GBI investigation was still underway, but was expected to be done soon.
