BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- The key ingredient in making a documentary is the truth. Until the filmmakers have stripped away all the lies, rumors, hushed suggestions and media hype, the work will never have the solid core it needs.

That search for the truth can become even more complicated when the subject of the film has agreed to be interviewed. This is where the filmmaker must be able to see when the truth is emerging and know when to discard anything that is irrelevant.
