Two crossings in the middle of town are in the spotlight after a string of near-misses and a serious accident that resulted in two teenagers being taken to hospital.
On Friday, October 17, a 14-year-old and a 16-year-old were struck by a car on the crossing between Ordnance Avenue and Academy Street in Lithgow.
One of the girls was taken to Lithgow Hospital with minor head and leg injuries, while the other was taken to Westmead Children's Hospital with suspected arm injuries.

The incident raised safety concerns at that crossing and the nearby one between the Gang Gang Gallery and Queen Elizabeth Park, as both have either been the subject of near-misses or accidents.
