AUSTIN (KXAN) -- A student was arrested and was accused of having a gun at Crockett Early College High School Monday, according to a letter sent to families from Principal Shana King.

In the letter, the principal said someone reported the student "who engaged in a fight had a weapon" at the south Austin high school.

"Officers immediately engaged with the student, confirmed they had a gun and immediately arrested the student," the letter said.

The letter went on to say that if anyone witnesses "suspicious behavior of any kind" to report it to the Austin Independent School District Police at 512-414-1703.

"If you see something, say something," the letter said.
