One of the defensive architects who pushed Mechanicsburg into Friday’s District 3 5A quarterfinal round has added an offer from a Mid-American Conference program.
Drake Dawson, among the top defensive ends in the Mid-Penn, recently announced on social media that Central Michigan has come aboard, becoming Dawson’s second Division I offer.
“After a great conversation with [CMU DC Sean Cronin], I’m extremely blessed to receive my 2 nd division 1 offer to Central Michigan,” Dawson wrote on his X account.
Marist first offered the 6-2, 235-pounder in July.
“To now have a MAC program like Central Michigan definitely means a lot,” Dawson said.
“It feels like all the hard work is starting to pay off, and it’s a great feeling seeing that progress.”
