The Sacramento County District Attorney's Office has declined to file charges in the case of a 16-year-old who was fatally stabbed by a Sacramento Regional Transit employee at a bus station in Rancho Cordova in June.
Michael Ray Berry, of Fair Oaks, died in the June 19 stabbing , which SacRT said at the time was an act of self-defense during a fight.

“The District Attorney’s Office reviewed a criminal referral regarding this matter. After evaluating the totality of the facts and circumstances, there is insufficient evidence to file charges and sustain a conviction under the 'guilt beyond a reasonable doubt' standard—specifically, proving the act causing death was committed willfully and without lawful excuse or justification," the office said in
